Nearly 47,000 people live in Bloomfield Hills and Bloomfield Township. Their homes are elegant and stately, with quiet tree-lined neighborhoods often located near lakes and beaches that dot the community. The school systems are among America’s best. Many business and community leaders in Michigan, the nation and the world have called the Bloomfields home. 

This is now.

But, back then, Bloomfield Township emerged as a result of the Land Ordinance of 1786 written by Thomas Jefferson.
